ANDREW DiSIMONE started his cutting career at the legendary Vidal Sassoon. There, he assisted one of the world's foremost hair experts, the "King of Color," Louis Licari, whereby his natural eye for color was trained and perfected.

After leaving the mainstream salon scene, DiSimone started his own salon on Bleecker Street, in the heart of the West Village. It was there that he met uber fashion stylist Sam McKnight. He assisted Sam for years working intensively on exclusive photo shoots with top models for Italian Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, and others, as well as on the catwalks for New York City's twice-annual fashion week.

Making waves
Looking toward the future, Andrew rented his first commercial space in the Il-Malkage Makeup Studio. Here, he and Catherine Murphy collaborated to create the signature brand of makeup called FaceStation.

Eight months later, he acquired his current facility at 855 Lexington Ave. Ditching the name DiSimone Studio For Hair, FaceStation Salon and Makeup School was born. FaceStation quickly became known all over the metropolitan area for wonderful hair and inspired makeup classes from talented people who care deeply about their work.

Not long after that, Andrew met David Groshen of Salon East, and the two of them teamed up to create the present day experience called FaceStation. Their amazing makeovers have been seen on Ambush, Faking It, and Inside Edition. Here, the upper east side meets its match in a down-to-earth setting, with a mix of soothing warm tones, good-humored hospitality and unpretentious clientele.

The latest and greatest
In 2007, Andrew forged a partnership with Natural Image Hair to become the only licensed purveyor of Virtually Yours hair replacement technology in Manhattan. He's thrilled to be expanding his horizons to help keep more New Yorkers beautiful.
